Topic: Locations For Vending Business

( Oh no, they're everywhere! )

The number one question I get emailed to me from new vendors is "what are the best locations for my new vending business?

This is a difficult question. After years of running a vending operation I can say that with the exception of hospitals and schools, there is no way to prejudge how good a location will be until you actually setup the equipment. We have been surprised by the volume in locations we seriously considered passing on, and equally surprised by landing a "prize" location only to find that the volumes were pitiful. Schools do very well but it looks like legislators are trying to curtail that (anti junk food and soda). Also, those are the locations with the most competition.

When asked what was the best locations for vending business I guess my answer would have to be, "Hopefully our next one!"

Hi Uncle Rob!
I wanted to let you know I really enjoyed the information in your book. It was very helpful and easy to understand. I am just getting into vending and I almost bought one those "business opportunities" the only reason I didn't is because I refused to go into debt for something I did not have to. They would not sell me one machine they wanted to sell me at least 10 "so I would be profitable."
Ha!
Its not profitable or smart to pay high interest rates.
The resources you gave where very helpful and I really appreciate you sharing your experience with me. I love to learn from other peoples mistakes so I can make new and inventive mistakes of my own :-) lol
Any way I just wanted to tell you I did not have any problems downloading and reading your information. It was easy and it was great!
Thanks Again,
Jenny ..(email on file)

    Keep In Touch
Make sure that a location is aware you want to be their vending solution. We once walked into a snack/pop location we had serviced for years only to find a full size coffee machine right beside our equipment. When we asked why they didn't ask us to put a full size coffee machine in, they said, "Oh!, we didn't know you do coffee too!". (A costly mistake for us)
