Specialty coffee vending machines seem to be getting pushed by some very slick vending business presentations. The bizop guys are selling a lot of these.
The profits on coffee/hot drink vending are GREAT!! However, this area of vending required the most attention.
Your customers have very strong opinions when it comes to coffee and hot drinks. We had full sized hot drink vending machines that dispensed a cup, small single cup machines where the customer used their own cup, and office coffee service where we delivered the supplies to our locations and they made their own. Our hot drink machines also included different soups (chicken noodle and turkey noodle sold best), hot chocolate, and some specialty items like French vanilla coffee.
Is operating specialty coffee vending machines profitable, YES! Unfortunately I see a lot of specialty coffee vending machines being sold as stand alone businesses. I think these machines could be a good "add-on" to an existing route but beware of trying to base an entire operation on specialty coffee.
I don't suggest you try and start a vending business with specialty coffee vending machines.

Don't limit your snack machines products to just snacks!
We did well with putting "other" products in based on taking a broader look at the location. For example, toothbrushes (hotel), laundry soap (trucking company), baseball cards (apartment complex), and other personal toiletries. Be creative!
